A Huge Thank You! It's been Hot!
As we reach the end of what has been an exceptionally hot and challenging period, I wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone in our Endon High School community.
The sustained high temperatures have required us all to adapt. Whether it has been relaxing our uniform expectations, introducing hydration breaks, moving lessons into cooler classrooms, filling the building with fans, cancelling outdoor PE or simply finding ways to stay focused during revision and assessments, everyone has responded with patience, flexibility and good humour.
I have been incredibly proud of how our pupils have conducted themselves throughout this period. They have continued to work hard, support one another and approach their learning with maturity despite the difficult conditions. Equally, our staff have gone above and beyond to ensure lessons remained engaging, safe and productive whilst constantly adapting to changing circumstances.
I would also like to thank our parents and carers for your continued support. From ensuring pupils arrived with refillable water bottles and sun hats to encouraging excellent attendance, your partnership has made a real difference.
Perhaps most impressively, pupil attendance has remained exceptionally strong throughout the heatwave. That commitment to learning is something we should all be proud of, and it speaks volumes about the determination of our young people and the support they receive at home.
While we have all been looking forward to slightly cooler weather, this experience has once again reminded me what a special community we have at Endon High School. By working together, showing consideration for one another and keeping our focus on learning, we have successfully navigated a very unusual set of circumstances.
Thank you once again to our pupils, staff and families for your resilience, kindness and unwavering support. It is greatly appreciated, and it is a privilege to lead such a remarkable school community.
FFT National School Attendance Award
We are delighted that Endon High School has been recognised with an FFT National School Attendance Award, placing us in the top 25% of secondary schools in England for attendance during the Spring Term.
This fantastic achievement reflects the commitment of our pupils, the support of our parents and carers, and the dedication of our staff. Thank you to everyone for helping make attendance a priority—every day in school really does count.

Summer Safety and Wellbeing
As we approach the summer holidays, I would like to thank all our families for their continued support throughout the year.
The summer break is an opportunity for young people to relax, spend time with friends and family, pursue their interests and enjoy a well-earned break from the routines of school life. We hope that all our students have a happy, enjoyable and memorable summer.
As young people spend more time socialising and enjoy greater independence, the holidays can also bring new experiences and challenges. Taking a few moments to talk about personal safety, responsible decision-making and looking after one another can help ensure that the summer remains a positive experience for everyone.
We would encourage families to continue having open conversations with their children about friendships, social media, personal safety and the risks associated with alcohol, vaping and drugs. Young people are often best prepared to deal with difficult situations when they have already discussed them with trusted adults.
A few simple messages are worth reinforcing:
- Know where you are going, who you are with and how you are getting home.
- Stay with trusted friends and look out for one another.
- Think carefully about what you share online and who you communicate with.
- Avoid situations that feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
- Contact a parent, carer or trusted adult if you need help or advice.
Perhaps the most important message of all is that a young person’s safety should always come first. If they ever find themselves in a situation where they feel worried, vulnerable or out of their depth, we would encourage them to seek help immediately. Asking for help is a sign of good judgement and maturity.
We are fortunate to have so many thoughtful, caring and responsible young people at Endon High School, and we know that the overwhelming majority will enjoy the summer holidays safely and positively.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support. We wish all our students and families a safe, enjoyable and restful summer break.
Thank you!
Thank you once again for your support of the school. Thank you for supporting the Assessment Window, especially in this hot hot weather, it is great to see the pupils prepared to do their best. The pupils really appreciated the support you give them, even if they don't say it!
Please remember to use the school website, Arbor, Firefly and follow our Facebook to keep updated.
