Goodbye Year 11. Well done!

Thank you to all of Year 11 for being a fantastic year group. It was a lovely leavers fayre today. Our very best wishes for the future.

Good luck in the final exams next week.

Year 11 iPad collection

Just a quick reminder about your iPads.

After your final exam on June 15th, iPads will start being collected. If you still have exams after this date, you’ll keep your iPad until your last exam, but it will be collected immediately after you last exam.

If you’ve paid for your iPad in full, it will be unlocked and returned to you, but please remember:

  • It will be removed from the school system
  • It will be wiped (factory reset) – this deletes everything: photos, files, apps, settings.

What You Need to Do

You need to download/send everything to your personal devices at home, this includes anything from OneDrive, Showbie, Firefly, and any other apps you used at your time with Endon High School. If you don’t need anything backing up, then simply just hand over your device after your final exam.

Once your iPad has been wiped and unlocked (for those who have paid in full), you’ll receive an email notification letting you know it’s ready to collect. Your device will be available for collection from Reception, and we estimate this will be within two weeks of handing it in.

Thanks, and good luck with the rest of your exams!

  • Can you please ensure that your child brings all of their equipment to school throughout the assessment window as we will not have capacity to loan items.
  • They will need two black writing pens, a pencil, a rubber, a ruler and a calculator.
  • You will need your scientific calculator for your maths assessment. The assessment may be carried out in room where maths isn’t taught, and we will not have calculators available to lend out.
  • They should bring any other revision materials with them as there will be opportunities to revise, as well as a physical reading book.
  • If there is not an exam they will have a PE lesson as usual. So don't forget your kit.
  • They will also need their iPad, charged to 80% as usual.

Homework

No homework that is not targeted at revision will be set during the next week and the assessment window. Pupils are expected to use homework time to revise for the assessments.

Uniform

As we approach Easter can we remind all parents to support is to maintain our uniform standards. If you have a queries please visit the uniform page on the website here:

https://endonhighschool.org.uk/school-information/uniform

School Skirts

We have noticed over the past few weeks that some students skirts are becoming an inappropriate length. Please can parents and students ensure that the correct school uniform is being worn. Students should wear the school grey pleated skirt and not black tube skirts.

Thank you for your support in maintaining our school uniform standards.

Mental Health

This year so far we have offered a huge range of mental health support for pupils this year with lots of pupils having accessed additional support ranging from wellbeing drop in Tuesday morning, mindfulness sessions, group workshops, boxing, one to one sessions and the school nurse.

All pupils have access to these and they are regularly advertises on student notices and social media. Parents have also been accessing the other options outside of school such as the virtual health visitor appointments , combined wellbeing number and other systems.

We are aware that mental health and wellbeing continues to be an area that people need support on and we will always try to support where we can. It is also important we remember wellbeing and mental health ebbs and flows and to normalise this. Anxiety and worries are perfectly normal and we need to try and do what we can to remind pupils that these emotions are valid and also find ways of dealing with them too to be able to find strategies of support.

Parents and carers too have been offered 3 Parental workshop and drop in sessions to come and talk about their mental health and how to support their child too. These have been well attended and it was lovely for Parents to be able to meet Tom Martin who ran the sessions. Tom also provided valuable information at our Parents information evenings at the start of the year.

We continue to work hard to offer what we can for the pupils with support of Parents and Carers. If you feel your child needs support over the summer holidays or have enquired for these last few weeks and heard our one to one sessions are full please contact the combined wellbeing number 0800 0328 728 and they will direct you to the right support available.
