Year 9 World of Work Day
In the coming months we will be continuing our focus in school on careers and pupils’ futures. In Year 9, pupils are beginning to consider their future options and specifically their GCSE studies. The decisions of what to study is not easy for most, and while we know that you will support them as much as you can outside school, in school it is important that we continue to help mould their immediate future.
During the assessment period in March, we have an excellent opportunity as the Year 9 team to do some work that we hope will have a big impact in getting pupils to think about their futures, by giving them experience of a workplace. This will take place on Thursday 19th March 2026.
Parents are asked to complete the Firefly form above ASAP

Online safety webinars for parents
Monday 9 March, 17:00 and 18:30
Online safety is a key issue for schools and parents. CST platinum partner RM is hosting two free webinars on Monday 9 March to help parents better engage with their children on safe use of technology. Schools can share the links direct with parents, with sessions for primary parents at 17:00 and secondary parents at 18:30.
Car Park Reminder
Car parking at school is very limited and the movement of cars on site can be a significant health and safety concern when we are over capacity. Therefore, we ask parents and carers to never drive onto the school site unless you are visiting school. Do not use the school car park for picking up or dropping off. We would love to have the space and capacity to allow parents to safely drop off and pick up. However, the car park and site does not provide us with adequate space. Even when the car park is re-modelled, as we are currently waiting on the signing off of a planning application, the site will not have space to make this possible.
We therefore acknowledge that there are parking and drop off/pick up pressures in the local community. We politely ask you to please respect the road laws, double yellow lines, grass verges and neighbours driveways. We often get complaints from local residents and the local PCSOs are vigilant of any issues.
Bike Safety
All pupils must wear a bicycle helmet if they ride a bike to school. No pupils will be allowed to cycle to school and store their bicycle at school without wearing one. Please note, all bicycles are left in the bicycle store must be locked and are left at your own risk.
Toilet Use During the School Day
To minimise disruption to learning and ensure safeguarding, we would like to remind pupils and parents of our expectations regarding toilet use.
During Lessons
Students are expected to use the toilet during break and lunchtime wherever possible in order to reduce disruption to learning time.
Permission to leave a lesson is granted only in exceptional circumstances and at the teacher’s discretion. This ensures learning flow is maintained and that all students are supervised and accounted for at all times.
Medical Toilet Passes
For students with specific medical needs (e.g. IBS, bladder conditions, anxiety-related needs), the school operates a formal Medical Toilet Pass system.
- Passes are issued by the Pastoral Team or SENDCO.
- A request must be made by a parent/carer.
- Supporting medical evidence from a doctor or medical professional is required.
Classroom teachers do not issue medical passes.
The school now operates a digital pass system via Arbor. When a student has an approved medical pass, this is recorded as a flag on their Arbor profile. Teachers can see this when taking the register, so students do not need to repeatedly explain their needs.
Where This Information Is Shared
This expectation is communicated through:
- Expectations assemblies and the behaviour curriculum
- The Behaviour Policy (Routines and Expectations section)
- The Equality and Accessibility Policy
- The SEND Information Report
- Student induction materials and handbook
- School bulletins referencing the “Endon Way” and high expectations around minimising out-of-lesson time
Requesting a Pass
If you wish to request a medical toilet pass, please email office@endon.set.org, addressed to the relevant Progress Manager. Requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.
