Curriculum Allocation
Year 7 English is taught for five 100 minute lessons per fortnight.

Topic 1: Mastery Literary Heritage
Oliver Twist
Reading and studying an abridged version of Dickens' classic tale of an orphan in Victorian London.
Mastery Writing
A writing programme which teaches students to all aspects of grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation.
Reading For Pleasure
Reading the classic gothic fiction tale 'Cirque Du Freak'.
Assessment
The first assessment is based on the topics covered in Period 1.

The second assessment will be based on topics covered in both Curriculum Periods to date.Curriculum Period 3:

Assessment 3 will focus on all aspects covered throughout the year, but with a primary focus on content from Curriculum Periods 2 and 3.Subject advice and guidance
