Curriculum Allocation

Our developing personal skills and talents lessons are taught for 3x 100 minute lessons per fortnight. This is an available option for pupils who may struggle with the full range of qualifications.

Curriculum:

Rationale

We follow a curriculum that links to the AQA units.

These are flexible and can meet the needs of pupils and are wide and varied. They are offered at various levels; Pre-Entry, Entry 1, Entry 2 and Entry 3 which can be an alternative to GCSEs or can count towards 'part' of a GCSE type specification for some subjects.

It is also an opportunity for students to explore some of their personal skills or individual/group interests and so our curriculum offer reflects our broad range of learner needs.

Curriculum content

A broad and varied curriculum based on the needs and choices of pupils including some of the following:

Intro to PD, Enterprise, MH/Wellbeing, Food Skills, Gardening, Politics, History of Computing, Work Related Learning, Healthy Eating, Understanding Bank accounts, Safety, Film and Media.

In year 11 we also focus on giving students additional revision or catch up time ti ensure further and deeper progress in in core subjects and key skills.

Assessment

No formal assessment. Coursework submitted with teacher approval for a final certificate.
